Campgrounds

Yosemite National Park has 13 campgrounds that offer tent and RV sites. Amenities vary by campground, but may include shared bathroom facilities and a general store. Booking is rather competitive and many site spaces are released to the public on a set schedule through Recreation.gov booking portal. The popular campgrounds on the valley floor such as Upper Pines, Lower Pines, and North Pines and more have a set release schedule 5 months in advance on the 15th of the month.

From Recreation.gov:

“Yosemite National Park’s reservable campsites are available up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. (PST). For example, on January 15, the time period May 15 to June 14 becomes available to reserve, and therefore, the full booking window would be from January 16 to June 14. “

From personal experience, you have to be up and ready to book at 7am PST on the 15th. These sites book up at an alarming rate. Be Warned.
